Shining Cuckoo

The bird life is gearing up for nesting season.
We've heard the first chicks up in the Beech Trees above our home and a Shining Cuckoo is also desperate to find a place to put her eggs.

In between the wind and rain we have beautiful days with very sweet smelling fresh air.
What a blessing!

 

September 2013:

Spring is in full swing, it is such a wonderful time of the year! After the warmest winter on record, we now enjoy red flowering Beech Trees. The birds are getting busy and there seems to be plenty of food for them.

This is a good time to make a booking for a wonderful stay at Tui and combine it with the mailboat and you will be experiencing the best of the Pelorus Sound. READ MORE
