A succesful Open Day
With the weather reasonably calm, we were relieved to give the ‘go ahead’ for the Open Day on Saturday the 30th of May. There were about fifty people who arrived on five boats, two from Havelock, two local ones and our own.

We even had snow, Leona and Liam had never seen snow before so they had a great time. The snow lasted for a number of days in some places, it was a very pretty sight, specially the next day when the sun was shining.

Our predator control dog has arrived! She is a cross between Foxy and Border Terrier, specifically bred for hunting rats, stoats and wild cats. She is very intelligent and lovely to work with. We hope that by summer she will be ready to start to go on the bush tour with Brian.
Tui Nature Reserve got invited for a speech at the AGM meeting from Kaipupu Point in Picton earlier this month.
This week, great progress has been made. Will and Rachel, our volunteers, are still here, a bit of hill work apparently doesn’t scare them.

We have set up a volunteer programme, it is full of conservation activities!
